Ways to Enter Bali: Visa Options

There are three primary methods to enter Bali: Visa Exemption Arrangement, Visa on Arrival (VoA), and Single Entry Visa.

1. Visa Exemption Arrangement (VEA)

If you are a citizen of one of the ten Southeast Asian countries, you can enter Bali without a visa due to a Schengen-like agreement between these nations and Indonesia. This arrangement allows for a stay of 30 days; however, it is important to note that it cannot be extended and is strictly for tourism purposes.

• Malaysia
• Singapore
• Thailand
• Myanmar
• Cambodia
• Laos
• Vietnam
• Brunei Darussalam
• Timor Leste

2. Visa on Arrival (VoA)

Currently, approximately 92 countries are eligible for the Visa on Arrival (VoA) in Bali. This visa grants a 30-day stay, which can be extended once for an additional 30 days, allowing for a total of 60 days. However, be prepared for a potentially lengthy and tedious process when applying for the extension at the Immigration Office.

Cost of Visa on Arrival: The VoA costs IDR 500,000 (approximately USD $33.50) per person, regardless of age. Payment can be made at Bali Airport upon arrival using MasterCard, Visa, or Indonesian Rupiah. If you choose to pay with a different currency, it will be converted at the current exchange rate.

Note: Be aware that lines at Denpasar Airport can be extremely long.

Avoid Long Lines with Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VoA)

Good news! You can apply for an electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VoA) before your trip, which helps you skip the long lines upon arrival.

The e-VoA application can be submitted up to 14 days before your travel date, but ensure that it is completed at least 48 hours prior to your departure.
